Substance
Use Evaluations

Evaluation and education for youth and adults.

About the Evaluation

PARS provides drug and alcohol evaluations and education for youth and adults referred by schools, courts, therapists, community agencies, and families to assist and empower them to make a healthy change. Individuals may also self-rever. The goal of the process is to assess whether or not the individual has a problem with alcohol and drug use that requires treatment. If it is determined that treatment is needed, the addictions counselor will provide professional treatment recommendations to assist the individual in obtaining education and help around their specific needs. These recommendations are personalized based on each individual’s unique history, situation, strengths, and current conditions. Cost is assessed on an individual case basis and must be paid before or at the beginning of the session. The cost will be determined once the appointment is scheduled. Grant funding may be available to offset the cost of the evaluation for a minor.

Drug & Alcohol Information School (ADIS)

PARS Alcohol and Drug Information School (ADIS) is an eight-hour educational program designed to inform participants about the risks and consequences associated with alcohol and drug misuse. The course meets the Kansas state requirement for individuals completing a first-time DUI offense. Instruction covers topics such as substance use awareness, Kansas laws and regulations, blood alcohol concentration (BAC), and the legal and personal impacts of continued violations.

What is ADIS? Alcohol and Drug Information School (ADIS) is an educational program intended to help individuals better understand how alcohol and substance use can affect their health, safety, and legal standing. Participation is often required for individuals who have received citations related to alcohol or drug offenses, including DUI or possession-related violations.

What does ADIS include? The ADIS class is a structured learning environment that focuses on the effects of alcohol and drugs, the risks of misuse, and strategies for making safer, more responsible choices. The class aims to reduce repeat offenses by increasing awareness, promoting accountability, and encouraging healthier decision-making regarding substance use.
