MAKING AN IMPACT
"The prevention field has taken a significant funding hit during the last decade and it has had devastating impacts. I support PARS because prevention services are cost-effective and critical. Now, more than ever before, we should be investing in these programs. Substance abuse can be all-consuming, and the rates are increasing amidst the pandemic. It can damage families and overwhelm communities. Though it may seem hopeless, I find solace knowing that organizations like PARS exist to empower individuals and families to be resilient. I support PARS because I believe in the power and impact of prevention." Cheri, Communities In Schools of Mid-America
I teach 8th graders in Topeka. PARS has always been there to present to my class, answer my questions, and/or provide in-service training on various topics. They are aware of our community's struggles, challenges, and needs and strive to be an integral piece of the solution.
I love having PARS coming to present to my 8th graders. They always have relevant topics and know ways to engage students and keep their interest. Every year after the first presentation, kids always ask, "When are they coming back?"
I enjoy having PARS speak to my students on the subjects of drug and alcohol misuse and abuse. My students benefit from the knowledge and fun presentations provided by Mr. Smith.
PARS is a great resource for our students as they make learning fun, entertaining, and provide statistics from Shawnee County and Kansas to show the kids reliable and updated information that is relatable to them! The students, as well as us teachers, really enjoy having them come speak to our classes!
